Taking a Bold Step Towards Sustainability: Tethered Caps and Recycled PET Bottles

In our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability, we are thrilled to announce a major change that will make a positive impact on our planet.

Starting in 2024, we will be introducing tethered caps on all our plastic bottles, aligning with the EU directive 2019/904 of the European Parliament. This directive requires beverage brands to make the switch to tethered caps, which remain securely attached to the bottle even after opening, throughout the product's service life or life cycle. This move is a significant leap towards reducing plastic waste and enhancing recycling processes.

The Tethered Cap Revolution

Tethered caps represent a crucial step in the battle against plastic pollution. These innovative caps are designed to stay connected to the bottle, preventing them from becoming loose or detached and ending up as litter in our environment. This proactive measure is a direct response to the EU directive, which aims to combat the growing issue of plastic waste.

The tethered cap concept not only ensures that caps remain attached, but it also encourages responsible disposal. Consumers can now easily recycle their bottles with the caps still in place, making the recycling process more efficient and effective. This is a positive shift that will promote sustainable practices and drive a significant reduction in the volume of plastic waste that reaches our landfills and oceans.

Commitment to Recycled PET Bottles

In addition to embracing tethered caps, we are dedicated to meeting another critical requirement set forth by the EU. Starting in 2025, PET bottles must contain at least 25% recycled plastic. This ambitious target not only reduces the demand for new plastic production but also encourages the development of a circular economy where plastic is reused and repurposed, rather than discarded.

The use of recycled PET in our bottles will have a substantial impact on carbon emissions, energy consumption, and the conservation of valuable resources. It's a win-win situation for both our planet and consumers who are increasingly demanding environmentally responsible products.

Impact on Consumers

As we implement tethered caps on all our plastic bottles from 2024 in accordance with the EU directive 2019/904, we understand that this change may have an impact on our consumers. However, we believe that this change is necessary to promote sustainability and reduce plastic waste.

We understand that some consumers may find tethered caps less convenient than traditional caps. However, we have taken steps to ensure that our tethered caps are user-friendly and easy to use.

A Sustainable Future

Our transition to tethered caps and the use of recycled PET bottles is a testament to our dedication to a sustainable future. We believe that it is our responsibility to take the necessary steps to reduce our environmental footprint and inspire others to do the same.

By embracing tethered caps, we are not only aligning with the EU directive but also pioneering a shift in the beverage industry towards more sustainable packaging. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to environmental stewardship and our determination to play a pivotal role in mitigating the plastic crisis.

As we approach 2024 and 2025, we invite you to join us on this journey towards a greener, cleaner planet. Every small action counts, and together, we can make a substantial difference in the fight against plastic pollution and climate change.

Stay tuned for more updates on our sustainability journey, and thank you for your continued support as we take these significant steps towards a better, more sustainable future for all.
